Dr. Chiranjibi Nepal

Dr. Chiranjibi Nepal is the Governor of Nepal Rastra Bank and heading the Central Bank since March 2015. He obtained a PhD from Benaras Hindu University, India. Dr. Nepal has served as an advisor to former Foreign Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Sujata Koirala, and as Chief Economic Adviser to the Ministry of Finance. He also served as Chief Economic advisor to the former Prime Minister Sushil Koirala. A strong supporter of free market economy, Dr. Nepal has been credited for a series of reforms in the securities market under his watch as chairman of the Securities Board of Nepal (SEBON). He was a faculty member of Tribhuvan University and Kathmandu University.
