Dr. Ramesh Prasad Bashyal

Dr. Ramesh Prasad Bashyal, a leading figure in the field of mining, has received MSc. in Geology from the Leningrad Mining Institute. In 1963, he started his career as Geologist in the Department of Mines and Geology, a position he held until 1978. He also served as Senior Geologist (1978-1992), Superintending Geologist (1995-1997) at the Department of Mines and Geology. Dr. Bashyal was also the Project Chief of the Petroleum Exploration Promotion Project at the Ministry of Industry. He retired as Deputy Director General of Department of Mines and Geology in 2004. He has received a PhD from Geology from Pierre et Marie Curie University Paris VI, France.
