Right Honorable Mr. K P Sharma Oli
Mr. KP Sharma Oli took oath of office as Prime Minister of Nepal on 15 February 2018 for the second time to the post. He is the Co-Chairman of Nepal Communist Party, the largest political party of Nepal that commands two-third majority in the parliament. Mr. Oli, who was Born in 1952 in Terhathum, has his life full of struggles and dedication for the cause of democracy and people’s rights. For his pro-democratic political activities, he was jailed for 14 consecutive years, including 4 years of solitary confinement. A leader with enormous courage and self-dignity, he played an instrumental role in concluding the peace process that ended the decade long armed conflict. Mr. Oli, an elected member of the Parliament from constituency of Jhapa, played a leading role in promulgating a republican new constitution with deepened commitment on inclusiveness and rule of law. Mr. Oli began his political career as early as 1966 and became a full-time political activist in 1968.
