Mr. Shankar Das Bairagi

Mr. Shankar Das Bairagi, has been serving as Foreign Secretary of Nepal since 11 October 2015. In almost 30 years of his diplomatic career, Mr. Bairagi has served in various capacities in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Missions abroad. He served as the Ambassador/Permanent Representative of Nepal to the UN Office, WTO and other International Organizations in Geneva as well as international organizations based in Vienna and Rome from February 2012 to November 2013. He has an extensive experience of participating in high-level meetings, summits and conferences –at bilateral, regional and multilateral levels. Mr. Bairagi is graduate of Law from Nepal Law Campus, and holds Master’s Degree in Political Science from Tribhuvan Universityand a Master’s Degree in European Integration and Development from Free University of Brussels.
